After a recent episode of The Voice France, the old saying « children should be seen and not heard » seems a bit outdated.
Perhaps it should now be more like « children should sing a little more. » This was the impression gained by the audience as they listened to six-year-old Gloria sing the song « La Vie en Rose. »
The song, translated as « Life in Pink, » was made famous by the legendary French singer Edith Piaf.
While Gloria may not have Piaf’s experience in her prime, the young girl held her own quite well.
Her interpretation of the song quickly captivated everyone who heard it, and even the judges silently sang along with Gloria.
One judge even reached for his heart and confessed that the singing had struck a chord. When the song ended, the studio audience gave young Gloria a standing ovation.
Gloria did a fantastic job! The viewers can certainly expect to see her again on The Voice France. If she becomes a big success, the producers will surely bring her back.
Is this the beginning of a long career for Gloria? It very well could be. If she continues to captivate the audience, she could one day become as famous as Piaf.
