A roof has been constructed over this school bus transformed into a tiny house!

Situated in Sooke, British Columbia, this charming little house is crafted from a 1969 school bus, offering a unique and nostalgic retreat. Nestled in a quirky garden, the bus has been transformed into a modest guest house, available for rental in rural British Columbia near the Galloping Goose Trail.

Surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, including beautiful beaches, pristine forests, coastal trails, lakes, and rivers, the cottage provides a serene getaway with abundant wildlife and natural beauty. Just a 30-minute drive or a three-hour bicycle ride from Victoria, it is known as Sooke’s old school BnB. The bus, once Courtney’s old school bus, has undergone a careful restoration, incorporating vintage elements and utilizing reused and salvaged construction materials.

The cozy interior of the bus boasts amenities such as a queen-size bed, room-darkening drapes, a kitchenette with a propane fireplace heater, and a stand-up shower. The outhouse features a composting toilet, sink, and hot running water. Despite the lack of internet on board, cell phone service is available, and guests can find entertainment through board games, cards, and local area books. Painting supplies, postcards, and traditional letter writing materials are also provided.

Outside the bus, a covered deck, BBQ, hammock, and Adirondack chairs invite guests to relax in the midst of nature. The surrounding property features beautiful trees and gardens. The well-equipped kitchenette includes a bar fridge, two-burner propane stoves, a kettle, and a toaster.

Tea, coffee, sugar, honey, and spices are available, along with pots, pans, plates, silverware, cups, and an outdoor barbecue. The fridge is stocked with regular and nondairy milks, ketchup, and mustard.

Guests can opt for a breakfast of the owner’s famous homemade nutty cereal, farm-fresh eggs, or baked treats, with dietary preferences and allergies accommodated upon request. For those interested in a small, hypoallergenic, well-behaved dog, advance inquiries are welcome.

However, taller guests over 5’10 » may need to stoop inside the bus. While the bus lacks Wi-Fi, internet access is available on the porch or driveway. Additionally, although the outhouse is upscale, guests should consider their comfort level with this feature.
