You should never forget how important parents are to their children. Just being there to show your child that they matter to you can make a huge difference in the world. Just ask Reuben Gray, who is 16 years old.
Before his audition on Britain’s Got Talent, the older teenager decided to sing a song he had written for his girlfriend, whom he had previously kissed.
Although it was tough enough to stand alone in such a sensitive and vulnerable situation and talk about his personal life, it was even harder for Reuben because he didn’t have the support of his biggest fan.
Reuben’s father worked abroad for about nine months of the year, and Reuben himself said that it didn’t feel right without his father there.
Soon, Reuben got a shock that changed everything.
When judge Simon Cowell asked if his father was a bigger fan than his mother, someone in the audience loudly spoke up.
As Reuben looked over, his proud father was standing there, as if he had come out of nowhere. Reuben stood in awe.
The scene was so shocking that the teenager could only gape and cover his mouth with his hand. After a while, he managed to pull himself together. His courage returned, and he delivered a great, emotional audition.
With his father’s help, nothing could stop the young man from showcasing his great talent on the piano, while his beautiful voice delighted the judges and the audience.
« You’re real, unique, and willing to take risks, and I really, really like the song. You’ve got real talent, » judge Simon Cowell told Reuben before he received four clear « yes » votes.
