ART ET NATURE

No one anticipated the consequences when Christina Quinn offered her 89-year-old grandmother Nana Betty to be a bridesmaid.

But a few months later, Grandma showed up at the wedding and demonstrated through her presence that she overall had the impression that life can (and should!) be enjoyed at any age.

Christina, who still remains close to her grandmother and warmly converses with her, recalls that Grandma « joked all evening, shared humorous life anecdotes, and even gave wise advice. »

A special place was assigned to Grandma on the wedding bus, so she didn’t return home to rest but continued celebrating our wedding together with the other guests!

She danced all night! It was particularly heartwarming when she danced with my fiancée’s grandmother.

Nana remarked, « You’re as old as you feel, and on that day, I felt youthful. » We all get older, but that doesn’t mean we have to become frail.

She challenged my certainty tenfold. She also asked why they needed an older woman at the wedding. You’re only as old as you feel, and at the moment, I feel young.

Grandma was cheerful throughout the entire marriage, making jokes and occasionally offering advice and wise words.

« I try to learn from her as she has a great sense of humor and her own view on life. Nana is loved by everyone. »
