With this car, Schumacher was crowned Formula 1 World Champion for the sixth time with Ferrari in 2003.

The previous record price for a vehicle was reached in 2007 when the car from the German Championship of 2001 was sold for $7.5 million.

It is important to note that Michael Schumacher suffered a severe traumatic brain injury on December 29, 2013, while skiing in the French Alps.

Since then, the 53-year-old German has not appeared publicly.

His wife has reported that the legendary racing driver is no longer able to move independently.
