ART ET NATURE

« The construction of a tiny house has completely changed Luanne’s life in the best possible way. Plus, the interior is simply beautiful! When homeowner Luanne was ready to retire, she decided to make another life-changing move and move into a tiny house.

She was fascinated by tiny homes and knew it would be a very ‘liberating’ option! It would allow her to comfortably spend her golden years on social benefits without worrying about high mortgages or high maintenance costs.

Luanne got a home from the Incredible Tiny Homes Community in Newport, Tennessee. She built her tiny home called ‘The Nest’ for $79,000, which is 10 feet wide and 28 feet long.

The retiree explained to Tiny House Giant Journey:

‘The people living in this community pay $200 a month for their (land) rent. We currently pay an additional $25 a month for water, and then we pay for our own electricity, which is an amazing deal.’

Luanne loved Christmas and expressed that through the decoration of her home. Fortunately, living in tiny homes doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy Christmas decorations.

The retiree doesn’t have to worry about storing the decorations after Christmas because each house on the property was provided with a shed that they could also customize to their liking.

You can already feel the festive atmosphere outside her house. Now let’s take a look inside…

The colors perfectly match the season! She has placed a small tree on the side of her house and a beautiful red wooden chair in front of it. A homemade wreath hangs on her door.

As soon as you enter, you immediately feel the coziness of her home.A large window opposite the door gives a sense of openness instead of having a wall in front of it.You can see her tree next to the fireplace with stockings on both ends.

There’s a sofa big enough for four to five people, and Luanne said she could accommodate ten people in it with additional chairs. The kitchen is no exception and has everything you need in a home.

The cabinets provide enough space for pots and pans. However, Luanne preferred shelves for her plates, glasses, and cutlery. She also added festive accents here to feel the joyful season in her home.

Luanne has a cozy workspace for all her crafting and stuff. It also serves as a dining table. She loves this creative space where she spreads out everything and works wonders with whatever craft she starts.

And if you like birds, you’ll love her idea of placing a bird feeder next to the window to watch them there. And if you thought storage was an issue, not in this house.

She bought this wardrobe from Ikea, which has so much storage space and fits perfectly in her tiny home.it has all the compartments she needs for her clothes, bedding, and fabrics she uses for her crafting.

Opposite is the bathroom, which looks spacious enough. It’s not the typical bathroom design, but the layout is quite similar.

She has a washing machine on one side and a toilet on the other. Her shower area is not bad either! You go up to the attic and see her bedroom with all the Christmas accents.

It’s spacious enough for a queen-size mattress made of high-density foam and more. You see a bookshelf that is the same as you see in the living room.

It’s a brilliant way to provide coverage and create a sense of privacy in her room. The height is also enough for Luanne to sit upright.Moving into ‘The Nest’ has completely changed her life. Luanne explained:

‘I think the best part of tiny living is just how it simplifies your life. But also the financial freedom it provides. My house is paid for – it’s kind of incredible.’
